JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job responsibilities for this position consist of but are not limited to document production from word processing to final document preparation, travel arrangements, calendar schedules, client visit preparation and special assignments as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High level of skill in Word, Power Point and Excel

  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

Job Title: Offset Portfolio Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will work with the Offset Portfolio team on acquiring and managing greenhouse gas offset projects. We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in the rapidly growing greenhouse gas offset market.

Offset Project Development

- Review and evaluate greenhouse gas offset project proposals.
- Conduct due diligence on proposing organizations.
- Prepare briefing documents for staff, committees and partners.
- Work with the Offset Portfolio team to negotiate Emission Reduction Purchase
- Stay abreast of developments in the Australian offset market.
- Support the Offset Portfolio team in the preparation of monitoring and verification plans for offset projects.
- Support the Offset Portfolio team with management of the Climate Trust’s existing project portfolio, including tracking offset projects, communicating with offset developers, developing contract amendments, etc.]

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

-Undergraduate degree in business or relevant discipline.
-Minimum of three years work experience with climate change issues, renewable energy, environmental markets, or other related field.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

-Masters degree in business or relevant discipline.
-Experience with the carbon market and GHG offsets.
-Experience with the electric power sector.
-Experience with green power markets.
- Language skills, particularly Indian and Chinese language speakers would be an advantage

JOB PURPOSE:
To develop clean energy and emission reduction project investments, which will involve:

• Working in a global business environment
• A keen appreciation of cultural differences
• Appraising project opportunities
• Financial modelling
• Evaluating and developing business plans
• Negotiating with external suppliers
• Raising external finance for investment portfolios
• Management of initial project implementation

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The ideal candidate will have experience in both investment banking and project development. At a minimum the candidate should have significant experience in one of these areas:

- Experience of project appraisal
- Understands project finance principles
- Ability to perform financial due diligence including risk analysis of proposed investments in climate change investment projects
- Ability to construct and operate complex financial models

COMMUNICATION AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

- Candidate will have to work and communicate with staff, clients and customers from a diverse geographic and cultural background.

Job Title: CDM Project Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the role:

♦ Managing the CDM project cycle of Auscarbon International’s clients.
♦ Coordination with Auscarbon International’s ‘implementation’ team for the successful registration of various projects. (PDD, HNA, Validation, Registration).
♦ Significant interaction with our client base, as well as maintaining good client relationships and furthering business development.
♦ Keeping updated and bringing new technical information regarding the CDM to Auscarbon International’s business development team.
♦ Working with project partners and third parties to prepare project validation.
♦ Data analysis and gathering.

Qualifications

Masters degree in environmental sciences/ energy efficiency/chemical engineering or a related degree.

Experience

♦ Experience in a company that is developing PDDs and methodologies as well as assisting project developers through the CDM cycle
♦ Strong technical skills and experience in, or familiarity with the energy, waste or industrial sectors,
♦ Knowledge and interest in climate change policy and the carbon market
♦ Technical and / or Project management experience in the energy, waste or industrial sector

Skills

♦ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
♦ Language skills, particularly Indian and Chinese language speakers,
♦ Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
♦ Ability to manage own work effectively and prioritise tasks

This position involves all aspects of forest management; planning, preparation, planting, growth, and ongoing maintenance.

Duties would include:

- Liaise with farmers, map sites, plan and manage planting of sites;
- Plant and monitor forest sites
- Coordinate and organize field days, workshops and training programs;
- Manage silviculture projects;

The successful candidates will have several years experience in forestry; excellent project management skills; and a sound understanding and experience of working in the Australian Forestry industry.

Opportunities have arisen at Auscarbon International for high caliber individuals to join our expanding Forestry Carbon Sequestration division.

Interesting and challenging biological modelling that builds on data rich and mature existing work.

We are seeking a forest modeller (biometrician) to provide biologically sound plantation models that depict the development, quantity and quality of plantation assets.

Auscarbon International is planning and developing large commercial forests for carbon sequestration.

The position is in a small team devoted to providing plantation management tools for yield prediction and scheduling. While such existing tools satisfy current needs, there is a need to maintain their relevance given impacts of genetic gains in plantation species and changing climate patterns especially rainfall.

We expect candidates to have strong reporting and communication skills and to be able to work effectively in a team environment under pressure.
