Introduction

Going 'Carbon Neutral' means calculating the amount of greenhouse gas emissions your life creates, and paying to reduce the equivalent emissions from entering the atmosphere somewhere else for example paying for forests to be planted.

Each day, you are actively contributing to climate change – through activities like driving, heating or cooling your home, taking flights and disposing of waste all of which adds pollution to the atmosphere.

Producing the energy required for these activities means burning fossil fuels like oil, coal and gas, which leads to an accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This process slowly heats up the planet, leading to global warming.

In addition to reducing your own energy and fuel consumption, you can balance out any remaining emissions you are responsible for by purchasing carbon credits or going Carbon Neutral.

How does Auscarbon International cut pollution on my behalf?

When you purchase a carbon offset or credit with Auscarbon International your purchase goes towards:

- planting new forests and reforesting where old growth forests once stood, or

- creating new renewable energy projects so that Australia is less reliant on fossil fuels.

We guarantee to reduce pollution by one tonne for every $20 you spend.

How do I know that my Carbon Neutral purchase is making a difference?

Auscarbon’s accreditations with the Australian Greenhouse Office ensures that all reductions in pollution are verified and accounted for – so you can rest assured that your purchase is making a difference. Click here to find out more.

Our programs are independently audited, and accredited under the Australian Federal Government’s Greenhouse Friendly program.

Remember, there are many different kinds of certification available globally. Before you buy, make sure that the certification comes from a trusted third party source such as the Australian Greenhouse Office.

For larger orders Auscarbon can source any kind of certified carbon credit you would like. However, we recommend our Auscarbon Offsets as purchasing these enables new forests and renewable energy projects to be created.
